SquareClock team is developping a new ray racing engine to create high quality images based on the 3D real time scene.
Thanks to highly realistic pictures, end users impact is very high for marketing and sales. Ray tracing images can be computed server side using SquareClock grid engine. So, users don’t need any technical skills to get a quick result.

SquareClock Wiimote enabled

Mercredi 05 Mars 2008

Few days ago, a good friend, Régis, sent me a link to Johnny Chung Lee web site. So, at SquareClock, we discovered how the Wiimote normally used for the Nintendo Wii could be used as a bluetooth device for new applications. Since it is very easy to setup we started to build a new user interface for virtual walthrough in SquareClock. Using a simple Wiimote, user can take control over many operations and navigate in the 3D scene using our 3D real time engine. It is only a very limited preview of what we could do using this funny user interface. More will come when our nunchuk will be delivered.

Preview of SquareClock lighting simulation

Mardi 04 Mars 2008

We had interesting feedbacks from users about the importance of the light for their housing projects. That’s why we decided to a precise lighting simulation in SquareClock in our real time visualization engine. Although any SquareClock users will be able to simulate the exact propagation of light in the environment based on the building location, orientation and of course date and time.  This demo is a very early stage preview of upcoming dev on this topic.

Most of the time, objects are flying in the scene and moving a furniture doesn’t move the embedded deco objects as it use to be in real life. Using our new semi automatic snap feature, SquareClock’s users will be able to arrange their rooms and object layouts in minutes. Thanks to a very high level of semantic, we know what the logical behavior of each type of object to assist users as much as possible. Basically, we are just coding the real life behaviors…
